I think you all know why I went to Mexico for the tr.  It is too expensive over here in the States even with the CHEAP doctors.  Doctor Perez was surprised that I had the tubal to begin with.  He saw a picture of my six children and asked me and Rick why we had it done with such beautiful children.  I liked that attitude right off.  I went to him for an intial visit and I loved the picture of Jesus looking over the shoulder of a doctor with his patient.  The patient and doctor were praying.  Dr. Perez has a wonderful bed side manner.  He is a gentle man.  He had no problem scheduling the surgery around me.  Whatever day I chose was fine.  As a matter of fact if I had wanted it the next day he would have done it. When I did go into to have the surgery, the hospital I went to was very small, but very clean.  The staff was very nice.  They knew I didn't speak very much Spanish so if they knew any  English they spoke it.  There was a BIG  Cross in the operating room. That gave me comfort.  Dr. Perez is a compassionate doctor.  He may not say a lot, but his actions speak louder than words.  I thank God for bringing Dr. Perez to our attention.  The price is right around $1,100.00 and the hospital is clean and the food is great especially if you like authentic Mexican food.  I would love to go back and have Dr. Perez deliver my baby, but 9 hours is a little too far.
Dr. Perez enjoys what he does and he has been doing tr for over 20 years.  His attitude about tubal ligations is different than doctors in the United States.  He knows there are side efftects from the surgery. As a matter of fact he told my husband about some of the side effects after a "christian" doctor over here told me that it was just surgery and nothing happens to a woman and he wouldn't do my tr because it was between me, my husband and God.  Yes I would go back to Dr. Perez in a minute.
Thank You for this opportunity to share my experience.

I would love to share with anyone about Dr Perez.  I would recommend him highly.  I know of 4 ladies including
myself that have went to him and two are pregnant and the third had a test to check if her tubes were clear and they are.  I have not been blessed with anymore children as of yet but enjoying being in Gods will. It has been 1 year and 1 month since the surgery.
*************************
I called on a Friday and setup an appointment with him.  I also told him that I would be traveling from  many hours (14 hr) and that I wanted to do the surgery the day after if that was ok (if exam was ok).  I had not been to a Dr. in many years for any bloodwork, chest x-ray, or  anything but I did send my TL records to a different Dr. in states that I had planned on using
until I found Dr. Perez in Mexico.  When I went in on Thursday he did a complete exam (he read my TL op. report at the office but when I made the appointment I had already known I would be a good candidate for surgery), with ultrasound in his office and because he was running behind due to a surgery  I had my bloodwork done in the morning before my surgery.
After my appointment  that thurs  we stayed in a hotel in McAllen, TX  and normal preop I ate nothing after 10 pm.  I was at the hosp. early the next morning I think it was at 7am.   They did gave me a room so my daughter would have a place to wait
(a very small hosp but very clean) did bloodwork and preop my I walked into the surgery room and talked with the anesthesiologist (only spoke Spanish but I understood the questions and tried to speak in Spanish).

My trip went well.  Everthing is connected and seems to be in working order one side had a lot of scar tissue but he still worked at getting it right.  The hosp was very nice and the nurses worked overtime with my little knowledge of Spanish.  But we had a good time.  The hosp. and Dr. was only about 15 miles over the border so we were not that far in.  I stayed
in one night after surgery and was released in less than 24 hr after surgery.  I felt great almost immediatley after surgery (I know this was of the Lord I have heard that the surgery itself was rough)  I was up and walking by myself within a few hours of surgery.  My daughter was with me (16 yrs old new driver) and  felt comfortable waiting in my room during surgery
and they had a nice couch for her to sleep on.  When we left that morning I drove for a few hours then she drove where there was not much traffic.  We drove most of the day until we were about 220 miles from home and stayed the night at a friends home and finished our drive that Sunday.  When we arrived home I went to church and felt fine.
I have had no difficulties since the surgery and removed the sutures ten days afterward, still no problem.   I am continually amazed how God takes care of me.
The most amazing things is that in the states the cost of surgery at the least through a Dr. that lowers his rates for members of Blessed Arrows is $3,500; this surgery, with everthing, cost me right at $1,200-- a big difference.  God knew our circumstance and gave me great comfort through it all.  I freely share my wrong doing in having a tubal in the first place to maybe help  another who does not know about the option of going to Mexico for this surgery and to feel impatient about needing to save for the fees of an American Dr.

Dr. Perez was very nice and says that he does not speak English but he understood me I have very little knowledge of Spanish.  He also reads English, his PDR book was in English.  He has been doing the reversals for about 20 years but does not have very many references for the culture of Mexico is hush hush on this subject.  He said his reversal rate is about 95%.
Although I know who gives the children to us.  I had already talked with a Dr. in the us about my surgery so I did not need an
consultation with him I know two other ladies who have used him in the last few monthes after I went and they were also pleased one wants to have her babies with him.
The hospital was VERY clean  I think they mopped the floor three times a day.    I am a medical assistant and am an
apprentice for a midwife so I am aware of the sterile technique I was awake and walked into the surgery room and was able to watch them set up the instruments.   The anest. was very good no after effects and they were very concerned about me being comfortable.  A few times afterwards I had to tell them I did not need anything for pain.  He wants you to stay in for
at least a couple pf days but he let me go before the 24 hours was up.  I was doing great.  I even drove my self home back to AR with a little help from my 16 yr old daughter.   I do not have enough good things to say.  I have only been able to try to get  pg for a couple of monthes since the surgery back in April the 28th (2000--this was written Summer 2000), but know that
God will give me another if it is in his plan I am just grateful to be in His will now.
As you can see I am still excited about finding him.

Answers to FAQ:

How much did is cost?
My total for hospital and Dr. including ultrasound and all med to leave was $1200  this included the anesthesiologist and assistant in surgery but they said the price would vary from patient to patient depending on med and what they find when
they get in there.  I had severe scar tissue on my right tube and it took longer for them  but I still thnk it will be right in that general price range.

How long had it been since you had your tubes tied?
Almost 8 years after I had my last child.

How long ago did you have the reversal?
Two weeks ago today and I am feeling great already maybe it is in my mind but I went through a cycle with hardly any PMS and very little cramping, very different than the month before and the cycle was even the following week of my surgery, in which I would have thought it to be worse, from the soreness of the surgery, but it was not.

From: Tracy Martin
My name is Tracy Martin, I have a wonderful husband Lee and 4 beautiful girls- Rachel-13, Sarah-10, Ashley-8 and Tori-7
I had a Tubal Ligation done in 1993 and had Tubal Reversal done on June 2nd,2000 in Rio Bravo, Mexico by Dr. Roberto Perez
Cost was $1250.00 for Surgery - Other Expenses were for gas, hotel stay, food around $300-$400.00

God began working on my heart over a year ago about having had a tubal ligation done. As time has passed He has led me each step of the way to "Righting" the "Wrong". My husband and I decided to look into having a reversal done and we began the "search". As time passed we became very discouraged because as I am sure alot of you all know it is not a "cheap" procedure!
Then, through this ministry, I met a woman named Marie who had posted about a Dr. in Mexico who could do Tubal Reversals. Oh, was I excited!! There seemed to be a glimmer of hope for us!!
So, I contacted her and got the information so we could check into it. We prayed about it and made the appt. to go down there and have the reversal done.  Anyway, I had the surgery done on June 2nd, 2000. The cost for us was under $2000.00 for EVERYTHING!! The Surgery, Hotel, gas, food-- and that includes paying for our friends to come with us (because they could
speak spanish and that helped us out alot!) After the surgery time has passed and I have been on a roller coaster ride through the past 10 months wondering if the surgery was successful etc... Torment from the enemy for sure!!

But I have some wonderful friends that encouraged me along the way to not give up and believe God for the impossible. As of now--June 1st, 2001 I am 6 weeks pregnant!!!! God is SO Good!! I thank Him for this Great Blessing. To have a little life growing inside of me is the most wonderful feeling!! There is so much more to share but I am trying to be brief-- Believe God For the Impossible is my statement.

Thank you for all your hard work in this Ministry, Blessed Arrows.
God Bless,
Tracy Martin and Family

Please remember the primary purpose this site even exists is to collect donations and FUND these reversal surgeries!!  If that offends you, then this is NOT the place for you.  Collecting donations for the surgeries is what this ministry is about. Make no mistake...IT IS ABOUT THE MONEY to get the surgeries funded
